Rwanda’s roads are the region’s best, and the Kigali–Musanze run is a scenic ride over the Bugarura ridges with terraced hillsides the whole way. Private transfers and tour 4×4s cost US$80–150 one-way; public buses reach Musanze town cheaply, where moto-taxis cover the last 12–15 km to Kinigi. Trekkers arrive the night before — trailhead briefings start at 07:00 sharp.

Carry small RWF for motos; roads are winding — sit forward if you get motion sickness. On the last Saturday morning (Umuganda) expect road closures until ~11:00.
